“Feedback was good!” comments one attendee of the Dr. Roy Verzosa’s seminar entitled “Pursuing Excellence in Preaching.”  The seminar was held at the Capitol City Baptist Church in at West Ave., Quezon City.  A total of 115 participants attended, some coming from as far as Marinduque and Legazpi City in Bikol.  CBAP churches were very supportive as 57 local churches were represented. Because the event was announced at DZAS and other churches, a total 29 non-CBAP individuals came.

Dr. Roy Versoza “It was well received.  I am excited about the pastors’ desire to develop skills in expository preaching.  It promises good Biblical feeding to our churches,” says one pastor from Marikina.

Dr. Versoza inflamed with passion for preaching the Word. The audience was mesmerized by his exposition!

“Maganda!  Sana noon pa ako naka attend ng ganito,” comments Bro. Aries from a non-CB church.  Bro. Aries is an OFW worker who says he heard about the seminar from DZAS.  He will soon return to Saudi Arabia, hopefully to use what he learned in the seminar.  Expository preaching is a very important element in the feeding of our congregation.

Rev. Nicky Joya, Executive Director of CBS-Asia encourages those who attended to continue to develop these skills.  He explains, “This seminar is meant to whet the appetites of preachers to pursue a serious training and more extensive education for expository preaching.  I’m sure many now realize that the task of preaching is no easy work. One has to have the necessary tools to dissect the Word precisely and apply it so that God’s message then is God’s message today.”

The seminar was a partnership of CBS-Asia and the Apollos Project founded by Dr. Roy himself.  Expect CBS-Asia to offer a number of enhancement seminars designed to sharpen the skills of our church leaders and shape their spiritual lives.
