The students of the Pastoral Ministries Program were greatly privileged to have Dr. Stephen LeBar, Executive Director of CB America teach Systematic Theology 1 last January 24-28, 2005. The course is about the methodology and philosophy of theology(Prolegomena), the doctrine of God (Theology Proper), and the doctrine of the Bible (Bibliology).
Dr. LeBar has served in the faculty of three seminaries in the United States including Southwestern Bible College in Phoenix, Arizona. He also taught in Ukraine. Dr. LeBar is no stranger to the Philippines as his parents served as missionaries to the Philippines in the 1950s. He was thrilled to have visited the places he once frequented as a child and renew acquaintances with old friends.
His teaching was greatly appreciated by the students. What impressed them deeply were the personal insights Dr. LeBar shared from his own pastoral experiences and encounters with the Lord. He taught from the Word as well as from his heart. This coming June, another professor, Rev. Donald D. Furrow will come to the Philippines to teach Pastoral Epistles. At present, Rev. Furrow is pastor of Stardust Bible Church in Arizona, USA. Prior to this, he served for 25 years as senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Palmdale, California, and also taught as an adjunct professor in New Testament Languages and Literature at Talbot Theological Seminary and The Master’s Seminary, and an adjunct professor of philosophy and ethics at the Antelope Valley Community College. He holds a Bachelor of Divinity in New Testament Languages and Literature (Magna Cum Laude and other honors) and a Master of Theology in New Testament Languages and Literature (Magna Cum Laude and other honors) from Talbot Theological Seminary in California. |
